Jay Colbeth grew up in a Christian home with godly parents that attended Calvary Chapel Old Bridge in NJ.  He fully committed his life to Christ at the age of 15 during a youth retreat.  From there, Jay spent most of his free time getting involved in the youth group, being discipled, and growing deeper in his relationship with the Lord. During his high school years he spent lots of time on missions trips in Canada, Nicaragua, and Russia.

After high school, Jay attended Calvary Chapel Bible College in Vajta, Hungary where “the Lord blew his mind” (and he earned his Associates in Biblical Theology).

In 2007, after returning from Hungary, the Lord called him and his wife Julie to serve at CCNB. Over the next eight years he served in many different capacities; as a deacon, pastoral intern, elder, and worship leader.  In 2011, he was ordained as the Assistant Pastor where he served for the next three years.

In 2014, the Colbeths left CCNB to obey God’s call to the mission field. They spent a year and a half ministering at Calvary Chapel Bible Institute in Rotorua, New Zealand. Jay taught Bible classes, oversaw the sound ministry, lead worship, and took outreach teams into various parts of New Zealand and Western Australia.

In June of 2015, God called the Colbeths back to NJ to take over the senior pastor role of Calvary Chapel New Brunswick.

Jay and his wife Julie have been married since 2004 and have three kids. He has a passion and love for teaching God’s Word and seeing it transform lives.  He loves discipleship and seeing people live radically for the Lord.

Fun Fact: Jay once drove his motorcycle cross-country from California to New Jersey.
